I install Softmii V3.0 Bootmii and the Homebrew chanel for all model Wii consoles without voiding the warranty and no soldering required. This will region free your Wii and also allow you to load emulators. If you wish to have your region changed this can be done also. e.g Japanesse language menu's to English. Why install a modchip on the motherboard when you can have the software method and your console left unopened.
